I'm not looking to spend too much, but I'm looking for a quality envelope filter. Want to try the effect, it sounds like it is cool. Looking at vintage MXR envelope filters. Suggestions?

I had a junky, beat up Q-Tron for a while (got it very cheap used) and it was cool. Ended up replacing it for something more 'boutique' that was not as fat sounding.
From what I hear, the Mini -QTron is a good starter filter. If there's a GC near you, maybe you can buy one and use it for a while. They are kind of a love 'em or hate 'em proposition.
