Epi 339 Pickup upgrade, advice?

Re: Epi 339 Pickup upgrade, advice?

I think the neck balance is fine, The SG/G400 Pro that I have is more prone to taking a plunge.

339 Pro, Cherry
339 P-90 Natural
339 P-90 Vintage sunburst

I been looking for a 339 in Royal Black with the White pickguard but those are hard to find.

If you want to tweak the tone/EQ of your P-90 339's, it's quick and easy to swap magnets in them. I mix and match, with an A8/A4 in the bridge slot, to beef it up. An A4 or A3 (with an A5) in the neck will take away a bassy low end.

I don't know - but I heard a guy in a music store kick out one of THE most killer Jazz tones EVER with one of those. Not sure what/how he was doing it - but definitely using it Stock with both sets of pickups going.

Re: Epi 339 Pickup upgrade, advice?

I have the ultra with non splitting pots but the extra nano mag in the neck, what pups would work with that mess of electronics such as the eq unit on the back etc. Also the tuner in the pickup ring would this still work with new pups? Dumb questions over

Actually, the suggestions would be the same. I still like Seths, and you should be able to wire in that tuner into the battery for the nano mag. I've never seen the inside of one of those, but if you get in there, post a pic.

With 339's, Epi's changed back and forth between Probuckers and the cheaper Alnico Classic Pros, so the tone's going to vary depending on which you have. Probuckers are decent PU's.
