epi elite SG

How do y'all feel about these? I just recorded a comparison between this and a new Gib standard SG and there wasn't a noticable difference at all. I can flip between the two and can't tell at all. I'm kinda wondering more about construction.

The elite ones seem to get a very good write up. Acutally, normal epis aren't THAT bad, their main problems compared to Gibson are pickups and electronics; other than that, they are decent instruments. To be honest, if it plays well and you like it, I'd go for it, especially if you're saving cash.

Thanks man- thats what I was thinking. The pups don't seem to soumd that bad, but I know that I would have to change the electronics , and thats a cheap easy fix.

Cool... any idea what the elite pickups are like? Are they Gibson ones? (I know some Epi models, the Noel Gallagher Supernova for instance, have proper gibbies in there...)

I don't know much about them, but they sound exactly like the gibsons. I will have to spend more time with it to really get a feel, but I was impressed.

my Elitist LP has Gibson "designed" pickups, whatever that means. They still sound awesome though. High end Epi's have awesome quality, perhaps not as good as Gibson, but definately more worth the money. Put some SD's in your Epi, and it will be better than a stock Gibson, for like half the price
