Epi Graveyard Disciple on the bench

I've got a GD on my bench right now for a setup.... Do they come from the factory with the locking nut superglued down? I mean - the 2 screws should do the job....

Locking nuts are rarely, if ever, glued down on a production guitar

Exactly my point. So why is this one? To make matters worse, the action is far too high at the nut, which prompted me to remove it so I could pull any shims or file the shelf lower. It's a new one owner, and never been setup before. Client brought it in complaining of intonation problems, and with a high nut - that would explain that problem.

It's done.... The locking nut was glued on from the top..... My guess is one of the screws that holds it was slipping....

Filed down the shelf to the correct height, loosened the truss rod to remove the overbow, and dropped the action at the bridge. All better, plays nicely and in tune after a quick intonation job.

Hate this thing, keeps trying to slide off the bench when you lift it up to work on it - and you can't set it on edge, although the Steinberger fold-out leg stand does stabilize it some.

Sorry, I misread the initial post. Interesting that it was glued down.

And, yeah, that shape is pure novelty...
