Epi LP-100 What to do?

Hello All. I just received a Epi LP-100 guitar for Christmas as a gift. Not sure what to do with it. I want to make into a project guitar. It is heritage cherry sunburst, I believe with a mahogany neck, alder top, mahogany back, and bolt on neck.

I am thinking of replacing the current humbuckers with a set of SD 59s.

Is it worth the effort to replace the humbuckers?

Other mods I was considering was replacing the bridge/tail, tuners, and electronics. This would be the first guitar that I have modified.

Any suggestions on what caps to use?

I am going with some 500K CTS pots.

Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You can't possibly go wrong with a 59 set and the CTS pots. You might want to put in 4-wire versions with push/pull pots to make it more versatile.

I have that same setup in my Schecter PT and love it. I consider one of the Customs at the bridge if you want it a bit hotter, but I like the 59.

THANKS RICH! I think I will go with the SD 59s.

Any suggestions on which caps to use?

I was tossing around the idea of the Sprague "Orange Drop" #715P .022 mfd 200 volt Capacitors or the Allparts Vitamin Q Oil Paper Capacitor .022uF 400v.

I think I am going with the All Parts CTS Pots (500K Audio Pot, CTS, Split, Knurled Shaft With Nut, Lock & Dress Washer).

I appreciate the help.

Thanks bigalthethird. Do you have a Web site or contact information for Bada Bing? I did some searches on Google, but didn't recognize anything.

Lu_B - I have been checking for the past couple of days and don't see any Bada Bing at your eBay Store. Thanks.
