Epi. LP Custom pups

my brother has an Epiphone Les Paul Custom, with the stock pups, which he'd like to replace. I was wondering, what pup combination would be best for his guitar for rock/hard rock, and soloing? He's looking for a nice rounded tone. any input would be greatly appeciated.

Custom 5 bridge and '59 neck? I don't really know the charastics of Mahogony, other than it's bassier than most other woods, so I can't really help you there. From what I know, though, both pups would work well in a Paul. Some other toneologists could help, though.

Since Les Paul pickups have been discussed in extreme depth here, it's a good idea to use the search function. Volumes have been written on the subject.

I'd suggest a Custom or Custom 5 with a 59, Jazz, or PG neck.
