Epiphone Baritone Les Paul

Re: Epiphone Baritone Les Paul

Yeah. It's not a bad guitar, and I like the finish better than their gloss finish. On the one I played (brown) it felt more like a poly version of the gibson faded finish. The sound was bright with a strong bass end, but overall I found it to be a bit sterile in the mids. Definately an interesting guitar though.

How was the action? ...and, do you think a pup with an A2 would solve the sterile mids problem, such as A2p, Seth, or CC?

I think any quality pickup would be an improvement.... it didn't sound bad, and it was full bodied, it just sounded boring compared to teh gibsons. The action was good but that's just the result of a decent setup... most guitars can be wicked players if they're taken to a decent tech IMO unless there's something fatally wrong wtih the gutiar like a stripped trus rod etc.
