Epiphone Casino P90s

Re: Epiphone Casino P90s

but mean 90s are humbucker sized. The OP can just retrofit some real gfs p90s into his casino easily. I like em. They smoked the vintage vibe handwounds that were in my axe. Also the calibration an string spacing was a win too.

That would be great if the GFS P90s fit and look similar to the stock Epi dog-ear P90s. I've never heard of GFS but I will do a search. Thanks!

I thought they also made them in standard P-90 size too.

Re: Epiphone Casino P90s

I don't think anyone mentioned swapping out the Stock Epi P90s for Lollars. That seems like an obvious upgrade with minimal work. Anyone with an opinion on Lollar P90s? I've never used them but from what I read about them they should do the trick and even fit nicely.

Lollars are excellent, nicely warm-toned. Not sure how the pole spacing will match up with the Epi cover.

Re: Epiphone Casino P90s

Supposedly they match up perfectly. I guess i am questioning the quality of lollars just because i have never used them. I don't think i've read any reviews here.

No one questions the quality of Lollars. They are top shelf and highly regarded.

Re: Epiphone Casino P90s

I have a '96 Casino that had some ridiculously hot (11-13k) Samick Unsung (Stamped "Samsung" on the bridge plate -- get it?) P-90s. I replaced them with a pair of vintage spec Artec Alnico V chrome dogears from eBay that cost me 50 dollars and they had the EXACT same footprint and string spacing. No guess work. I highly recommend them.

While you're in there change the caps and the 3 way switch too if you haven't already. The latter is prone to failure and I don't think I need to explain why it's a pain in the ass to work on hollow body guitars.
