Epiphone Casino with Humbuckers ?

I realize this is some one else's thread and I don't want to be rude. What kind of pickups did Gibson put in the ES-175 in the early 70's?

AFAIK the only full-size humbuckers Gibson made in the early 70s were T-Tops. I don't know if the wind or magnet changed over the years, but I've heard some that were good and others that were really uninspiring. IMO the earlier ones were better, which leads me to believe that the formula changed at some point.

I wasn't joking. One thinline hollowbody I put an unknown Gibson humbucker into. That was a Sex Pistols sort of punk rock band. Great sound! Had a nice twang to it..
The other I installed a JB. That was a hardcore band ala early Black Flag/Circle Jerks.
In between those I played an ES-335 in a sort of Social Distortion/Fu Fighters type band.

I like punk, I like humbuckers, and I like thinline hollow and semi-hollow guitars. But my desired tone probably doesn't match the typical hollowbody player...

. . . fair enough ;)

You're correct! Virtual sports are becoming more and more popular every day. In recent years, practically all bookmaker services expanded their markets to include several e-sports categories. Even when compared to traditional tournaments, prize pools for esport competitions have grown significantly.

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I'm on the hunt for similar info myself. Thanks for bringing up the topic of converting an Epiphone Casino with P90's to full-sized humbuckers. I've always been curious about how a full hollow thin, line guitar like the Casino would sound with humbuckers compared to, say, an ES-335 with a center block.

I swapped pickups in a hollow-body a while ago, not a Casino, but a similar vintage Aria. Went from single coils to humbuckers, and man, the tone thickened up in a good way. The body resonates a lot more than on a center-block guitar, so the humbuckers added warmth without losing too much clarity. I used a pair of Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers , super smooth and responsive, especially clean or with light overdrive.

If you’re into experimenting with gear in general, especially in audio or tech, there’s a great guide on best crypto spot investments I found while reading up on blockchain stuff last week. Worth checking out if that’s your thing too.

For the life of me, I can't imagine why anyone would want to take a Casino (which is an amazing sounding guitar in and of itself) and want to put humbuckers in it. Tone wise, that would be a step down. That's not to say that it wouldn't also sound super...it absolutely WOULD! But why mess with already greatness?! With the right pickups, a 335 could sound every bit as lively as a full hollow body Casino with humbuckers. But for heaven's sake...don't ruin a Casino!
