Hello, I want to replace the pups in a new epiphone ES339 but have 1 question. It comes with silver cased pups and the ones i will buy are:
Neck pup: Seymour Duncan SH2N Jazz Model Humbucker (zebra)
Bridge pup: Seymour Duncan APH-1b Alnico II Pro Bridge

Can i put these in when the originals had the silver covers? will they fit?

Thanks for any help.

Not only that, but those are great choices. Let us know how this turns out!

What are you playing with this guitar?

I really dig whatever they are putting in there. I wouldn't swap pups at all for a great all around player...

At least not worth the cramped space hassle of swapping in a semi hollow!

Aceman, primarily classic rock and blues, i play rhythm not lead. are you suggesting leaving my epi es339 alone with stock electronics? i upgraded a dot a few years ago and semi-hollows are a pain to work on, i agree. thanks

I suggest your original plan. And yes, they are a pain to work on. After all these years, 'tradition' keeps them from making an easier way to do this.

I just found Jazz/A2P an odd combo.

But - for only rhythm and classic rock / blues....I can see that.
