Re: epiphone les paul +good pickups
i must choose now
it's very very complicated
my guitar has a dark sound so, i must find clean tones but bluesy too (i like the sounds of gary moore, santana, john sykes, sambora, peter green)
i have classic 57 by epiphone and classic 57 by epiphone too
i think that i will try a classic 57 (by gibson) for the warm tone in neck
i think alnico II is the best for my guitar
for the bridge i want harmonics, sustain, feedback
seth lovers or other vintage pickups have microphonic problems (not wax potted sometimes) and not 4 conductors (sometimes)
there is the alnico aph-1 too
i had a sh1 but i like creamy and warm tone of my classic 57 and high MIDS (important)
for the bridge position: i don't know
custom 5 sh14
sh11
dirty fingers (john sykes' pickup in the early 80's)
sh 4 : no !
i would like a dc resistance with more than 8 = 12, 14 but maybe it will be too much
most of LP only have 7-9 dc in the b position
i don't want to try a 498T (i listened to the demos by a website
http://www2.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Features/en-us/tone-hunting-0309-2011.aspx
alnico V have a warm tone with more bass than alnico II
it's for good guitars
i thought about the pearly gates in the b position
but has it sustain? feedback? harmonics ?
i don't know
so, classic 57+dirty fingers?
classic 57+ sh1?
aph1+ ?
classic 57+full shred?sh14?
classic 57+ pearly gates billy gibbons?
i must have 4 conductors too avec covered pickups (more MIDs for the neck position and maybe not coverered pup for the b position like jimmy page did in his guitar)
