Epiphone Lespaul suggestions?

hey guys, i'm using a Epiphone lespaul custom, totally stock. and i wanna get my stock pups changed, i was either looking at either the SH-12 bridge and SH1 59' neck combination or the SM1 neck and SM3 bridge combinations.

I play classic rock, occasional hard rock, bluesy tunes, indie stuff, punk and the usual rock. with no intention of going into metal or anything.

you guys can suggest any other setups? or are those im thinking of suitable?

thanks =)

Welcome to the forum.

SM-1/-3 combo won't fit in your guitar without mods, unfortunately.

For the styles you mentioned, I'd go with either a full Pearly Gates set, or if you want more output, a Pearly Gates in the neck and a Custom in the bridge.

There are so many combos that would sound great in your guitar!

Jazz & JB
PGn and Custom
PGn & PGb
AIIPro and Custom Custom
Seth Lover neck and bridge

Any of those neck pickups combined with the JB, Custom or Custom Custom bridge pickups would also sound great.

I'm really taken by the PGn and Duncan Custom in my own dual humbucker guitar. Hard not to recommend that set...I love it.

And if you like single coils you can split that set with mini switch or push/pull pot and get great single coil tones like a Tele. Very useful for cleanish rythym tones and for Hendrix stuff like Little Wing.

For about a year I had a Custom Custom / Jazz combo in my Standard Plus. Great combo. The CC sounds incredible in those guitars. Since getting my Brobucker, it's in the bridge now and I could not be happier with the tone. The Jazz is still in the neck slot (old faithful in my book).

I have a epi les paul classic quilt top with a set of seth lovers in it and it's excellent for classic rock

Re: Epiphone Lespaul suggestions?

hey guys, i thank you so much for your suggestions, especially the 59N with sethlovers bridge. i think that pair might just work out excellent. cause i dont really need high output stuff. but when i get another guitar, maybe an ibanez S series (if i really go mad), then i'll go high output.

Thanks ALOT guys! =)
