Epiphone Ltd Rivera P93

I'm considering the purchase of the Epi Rivera P93 because I'm in the market for a 335/Dot style guitar with a Bigsby tail. I'm not enamored with the three P90's (I have a Casino Revolution) and was wondering if I could replace the neck and bridge p90s with P90 size humbuckers? What would be the best way to wire the pickups with the number of spots for pots/switches in place.

Re: Epiphone Ltd Rivera P93

I got one when they first came out. Great guitar. The one drawback is that it need a roller bridge to go with the Bigsby (I put one on mine). I don't know why anyone wouldn't want P-90's, especially since you can do so much with magnet swaps. Much more versatile than HB's. Although the stock PU's were decent, I put in Gibson P-90's with an A8/A4 in the bridge P-90, and A5/A4 in the neck & middle. This gave me a strong, beefy bridge, and a bright yet full neck & middle.

As for wiring, Gibson/Epiphone never put any effort into their triple PU guitars. For me the best way is to wire the 3-way toggle as if it was a two PU guitar, and dedicate a volume & tone to the bridge PU, and a volume & tone to the neck/middle (that volume being a blend pot, so you can dial any amount of neck, middle, or both). This allows fast changes between middle & bridge, and neck & bridge, which is handy onstage. Just flip the toggle.

Did you upgrade PU's on your Casino?
