Epiphone V in white?

i found a used Epi V in white that is awesome! The truss cover is missing, and I would not have guessed it to be an epi except for the serial number. The only negative with it are the missing truss cover and the prev owner did a very cobbly job of opening the pickup holes to add emgs. When were they made in white and what did they sell for new??

I hate being friggin broke

Re: Epiphone V in white?

PICS OR IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!

and yeah, I think they did make white V's. What year is it supposed to be like?

Re: Epiphone V in white?

They made white in very limited quantities. I have a black Epi V with a black pickguard, which is also rare.

Epi's made a lot of models of SG's, LP's, and 335's in the past few years, but I haven't seen them get very creative with V's yet, except for a limited run of Poppa Chubby P-90 V's (which is a cool idea). They could do more colors and graphics, Floyds, 5-way switches, and HSS using P-90's. They could probably sell a bunch of EMG versions too. Gibson came up with the original design, so Gibson and Epiphone ought to be leading the pack with innovations.

Re: Epiphone V in white?

Its in a shop, so I dont have pics.. It looks like a white gibby plain and simple. the neck is thicker than the faded V I had.. They are asking $399 for it.. Im considering trying to do a layaway, but I dont think I can come up with the down payment..

Re: Epiphone V in white?

Is it a "gotta have" or a "wanna have?" :scratchch

Lot better guitars out there for that money not to mention the killer ones already at Castle Bloodrose. OOPS guess I mentioned them. :1:

Save that $400 up and hunt you a sweet guitar. Get yourself a real nice Flametopped (veneered) Korea Dean '79 Series V for that. Used Korean Solteros in nice Flametops should price out about there.:cool2: For $200 more you would be looking at being able to get a decent early to mid '80s Hamer Vector. :scratchch

Just something to toss around. :cool2:

That's not even relevant. Nor does it even make sense. Technically, few guys have a "gotta have" guitar, as that would be something required for the production of revenue to sustain a certain standard of living. A musician who supports his family by playing in a band. Over 99% of the guitars owned here are 'wanna have's." We have them because we like them and can afford them. You can make up any BS excuse you want for your wife or girlfriend, but don't try to fool us boys here on the forum. Craving a guitar a lot doesn't turn a "wanna have" into a "gotta have." That's just an issue of balancing disposable cash, impulse control, and maturity. We could all live with one guitar if we had to (God forbid!). Funny how the number of "gotta have" guitars rises and falls with how much money you make at your day job. Win the lottery and see how many "gotta have" guitars you suddenly think of.

Re: Epiphone V in white?

I think he answered understanding my intent. No harm, No foul on my part. Sure hope so none intended. I was not questioning his thoughts at all. That was a question I would ask myself about buying a guitar. Buying a ton of guitars when affordable and appropriate to your budget is always good advise.

BTW, 8/24/08 won $2600 on Play 4 evening number of 0128.
8/26/08 bought 1 2005 Hamer Korina Vector. It WAS a must have. :cool2: :headbang:

Life IS Good! :approve:
