That valve junior looks nice and with a quick google search they're going for about $120 over there.

Yeah, I saw these amps on the Epi site last week. Class A too.....sweet. I just wish the Junior had more knobs than just volume. I wonder how they sound.

You could always shove in an EQ pedal Would it work well in front of the amp or does it HAVE to be placed in the fx loop?

The ideal place for a tonestack or EQ is after the preamp gain stages.

I guess it's an amp made after the Fender Champ... Except for the 6L6 and the rectifier valve.

I don't know about these, but the Epiphone amp I had used a VERY cheap, horrible sounding speaker. If you're willing to make a swap, it's no problem at all, but if you don't want to, just make sure they've got a better speaker in them. They may be fine, but just be cautious.
