fretburner,
my experience has been that your OD pedal of choice is dependent on whether you are plugged into a bright, warm, or mid-rangey amp.
Just for the heck of it, I once chained together a SD Pickup Booster, a Bad Monkey, a Screamin Blues, an Arion Tubulator, a Boss SD-1 (modded with a Burr Brown chip), a Boss OD-3, and a DS-1 with Keeley-type mods. Hooked those all up to a bright, clean Fender Champ 25 SE, then my son and I had at it for about an hour, with a strat.
The verdict was, if we just wanted a clean boost (no coloration) up to about 16db, the SD pup Booster won out over all the other pedals. Furthermore, while the pedal's resonance switch works at louder volumes, it is not quite as effective as the real thing, i.e. switching from a single coil to a humbucker.
Furthermore, what goes with a "v" eq'd amp like that is something that adds some midrange to it, such as the Tubulator and the Bad Monkey. The latter won out over the Tubulator to our ears because it has more versatile, separate low and hi tone controls, such that turning up the low control gives your tone an amazing thump.
Plugging into another amp, a boxy and midrangey Peavey Classic 20 that I used to have, OD pedals without the midrange hump were our preference. The Screamin Blues, in particular, is a big help for a muddy sounding humbucker/amp.
Now that I've let go those amps and gotten a Blues Deluxe, I found I have to start over and see what OD goes with this amp which is warmer and has quite a bit more of midrange than the typical SF/BF bright Fender sound. I hope I get the chance soon to chain all those pedals together again and plug in soon.
I've briefly tried using a cheap EQ pedal as a boost and as a tone shaper on this amp, but I find that it adds quite a bit of unwelcome noise.
My friends are big fans of cascading 2 or more od/gain pedals to get a great sound. I should explore that option too. Maybe you can as well, since you already have the Guvnor and Shredmaster.
Fyi... as usual YMMV.
