Eq recs

OH THE DOUBLE THICK GLAZE!
I'm using my lil Behringer 7 band eq pedal for my Hammond keyboard and it works really well. Noise free and transparent. Wondering if there would be anything better. Looking at the Boss 10 band eq.

As a loop EQ it's hard to beat the newer silver MXR 10-band. In the front as a boost or boost/od/distortion-shaper it's hard to beat their 6-band.
For multiple purpose versatility, especially on-the-fly, it's hard to beat the digital/presets type of EQs.
Sometimes it's just hard to beat!

I have to ask why you'd want to throw that entire mega-rig through an EQ pedal to begin with...

^ Because the keyboard or amp doesn't have eq shaping ability; if I bass it up a little bit and attenuate the upper highs, it makes it sound fatter and takes away some of the hollow digital quality to it; and I would always have the option of not using the pedal.

Whats 'better' for you
Without that, the question is meaningless

True. Maybe I should just be happy with near perfect operation from my $20 Behringer. 10 bands could be an improvement because I could turn down the highest slider and cut the digital feel without losing my key click.

Try a guitar instead of the Hammond.

The Boss EQ-200 is pretty awesome and could really be a benefit in your situation with he customizable EQ profiles you could make with it for various "sounds" you may be chasing. For guitar, the Empress Para EQ is awesome. I don't know if it would be as good as the Boss for your application. Source Audio makes a nice one as well.

I might have to give it a shot and just return it if it isn't an improvement over the Behringer. Is it silent? Noise is a no go.

I never recommend junk yo! lol

It is quiet and works like a champ. It's a great studio piece as well.

My second choice for your application

Ok I got it. I'll report back next week. That crap's getting returned if it doesn't beat out my $20 Behringer lol.

I wouldn't put a $6000+ organ through a $20 guitar eq pedal. I'd get something like this, at least...

Or something like one of these kind

If it works and you're happy with it...

Yep, we'll see. I can always return the new Boss pedal. I did want to try at least 1 more expensive eq pedal.
