Hi all,
I was in one of my local "mall" music stores, a place I never buy stuff because of their unwillingness to any price matching, and I picked up the new 2005 Fender Frontline catalog. There's a lot of new cool stuff Fender is offering. A MIM 50's Esquire for one. It's part of the "Classic" series; but that's for another thread. After three years of planning and design (y'all know how Eric Johnson is about tone), the Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster is being unveiled this year.
It's basically a 57 Strat with an alder body, with a 57 white pickguard and special'y designed pickups. The trem route is a big block like the 50's style. The neck is a 1-piece quartersawn maple neck with 21 frets, 12" radius and medium frets.
Fender puts their artist signature line in the general production line or the Custom Shop line. I dare say that this one with be a CS model...
