Ernie Ball Axis Super Sport BFR...major GAS

Re: Ernie Ball Axis Super Sport BFR...major GAS

Yeah, a blue flame maple Axis super sport (aka unlocked trem) is about the Music Man guitar I would want. Not that I could play it with the narrow nut.

The BFR stuff is not generally available. I never got how exactly you are supposed to get your claws on one.

Somebody stole the floyd and put a tone knob on it with hopes of hiding the crime. Yuck.

i'm thinking the dimarzios would be removed for a pair of zephyrs. :scratchch

My guitar heard that.

Those stock DiMarzios are actually really good. Lovely punchy tones.
I replaced them in my AL HH, but kept them in my Axis Super Sport (purple with a quilt top: and a neck with dual flame/birdseye pattern!)

Awesome looking instrument. EBMM are my favorites these days...love the tone knob, the 5 way and the vintage trem.

Where did the double cream Zephyrs come from?

Re: Ernie Ball Axis Super Sport BFR...major GAS

My local shop, Bellers, gets lots of BFR's in stock. I wouln't dream of changing pickups in my axis- its tonal nirvana. If you can give up the quilt top, you can get a Gamechanger, which has the same construction for about $1k less.
