ESP certificate of authenticity

Hi,

I tried asking this on the ESP forums but am unable to post there, tried everything to no avail. If anyone here knows for sure (or can ask the official staff there), I'd be very thankful. So here goes:

I just ordered a new ESP M-II, Standard series, Made in Japan (in 2012). But I didn't receive the ESP certificate of authenticity. Is this normal, does it only come with the Custom series? Or should I've got it as well?

Thats a good question I believe you should have recieved one.. unless, like you stated, it only comes with a custom. I'm 70% sure there should've been one with the guitar in a nice little orange envelope and bubble wrap padding

From what I've seen, having owned several ESPs, COAs typically only come with Signature and Custom Shop instruments. I doubt your M-II ever had one.

Only ever owned the Japanese ESP Standard instruments. They seem to come with an all-Japanese warranty card that states the warranty is only valid in Japan... <_< Well, at least the ones that I've came across, which were imports, that's probably why. Not sure if your M-II is a Japanese import or an MIJ instrument made for your local market.

If you purchased the instrument five years ago and didn't get the COA then, you're never going to get one. Enjoy your guitar and don't worry about the paperwork.
