ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

WITH FULL DISTORTION

F. Hails Railsologist
i´m doing a guitar trade with two guys
one is offering me a charvel, 650 xl or LX.. but it seems like a Model 6.
re re painted it in black.it was originally crackled white.

and the second guy is offering me an ESP MII DELUXE.

which one of them are more legit or.. kinda Less Suspicious?
i preffer the ESP. it´s more like the pickups and tone controls config that i need. and the charvel has two singles that i won´t need, and 3 tone controls that i´ll either don´t need or don´t use at all.
ahahahahahaah
so let meknow what you think of teh value of this guitars.. and which one should i trade for the IBANEZ Prestige S1220 WNF of mine.

Thanks in advance
heres the pics of the guitars in question

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

Personally, I would keep the Ibanez

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

The problem is.i didn´t like my Ibanez Prestige S1220 and i can´t do what i want with HER. that´s TUne it to B,without the strings feel so ****gin Flabby. and i dont´want to Damage the Guitar by doing crazy experiemnts with 0.14 or other thickness strings.
so,considering it,which one of these two guitars would you pick up if you were in my position!?

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

Whats the scale length on the Ibanez? If its 25.5" The flabby strings will be the same on the others or worse. If you want to substantially tune down you need to use a baritone scale length or go with much heavier gauge strings.

Hey, if you don't like the ibanez you don't like it. I just don't want you trading for something that may not be at the level of what you have and still won't solve your problem.

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

you are right about the ibanez scalelength. but its 22 frets, instead of 24.Yeah i understand. but check it out, i have a schecter avenger and it´s the same scale length and it hold with easy the C standadrd tuning i´m using with 0.13
i also tuned it to B and it worked fine, but i wanted it to be on C instead of B.

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

I'd keep the Ibanez, its much nicer than both the Charvel and the ESP. I suspect that you may need to adjust the Floyd's spring tension of the Ibanez - the Charvel and the ESP would require the same.

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

I already did it
the strings are way taller ,more than 2mm
and i tried it with 2,3 and 4 springs.

What do you mean by the strings being way taller? Do you mean above the freboard? What string gauge is on the ibanez now? Not sure why you won't try the heavier gauge strings on it

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

A friend of mine has a RG570 Korean.and he put a 7 string set.and One of the 2 studs Just Got ****ed Up.
ahahahahahahahahah
BECAUSE of the tension
i mean, the string height are way high. more than 2mm
0.13 tuned to B standard

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

I would go after the ESP MII. I don't know how successfully you will be able to downtune but IMO the ESP is a better guitar.

Re: ESP/CHARVEL gurus,help here

I've always prefered ESPs over any Ibanezes I've tried. I don't know about the value difference of the guitars in question over there.

The number of frets doesn't affect the string tension.
