Epiphone and their four-piece necks, six-piece bodies, and alder tops instead of maple?
No, they're not even close. Right shape except for the headstock...nowhere near a one-piece mahogany neck glued to a two-piece mahogany back and a solid maple top.

I just picked up a used Agile 3000, it's a nice guitar. I haven't owned an ec 1000 but I've hacked around on 'em in stores, I think the Agiles better. Over the years I've owned a Whole bunch of axes, 4 Lesters, American strats and teles, Charvel, etc. The Agile is a damn fine axe. If I keep it I'll be throwing Seymours in it, but I do that with pretty much everything. My two cents.............

I've been eyeing the Agiles too, as I'm on a budget these days. I have an LP Studio that I like quite a lot. However, Gibson is supposedly coming out with an aniversary 50's model Studio with P-90's for around $800. Way more than an Agile. I'd have to play one before shelling out almost double the cost of an Agile. However, I would rather support American made. But, the overseas guitars are getting so good for the money. I have Reverend, Edwards, Gretsch and Schecter, and am impressed by all.

Did you get the agile rootbeer spalted or flamed? How about posting some pics? I'm obsessed with agiles now, wish I would have known about them sooner, I have a thing for quality cheap guitars, don't think I'll ever spend more than $400 in this decade at least.

Agile's will eat any Epiphone Les paul for breakfast , lunch , and dinner !!!
Just don't shout it from the rooftops......I'd hate to see the word get out and then everone guitar player and there grandma will have one !.....lets just keep it a SD Forum secret......shhhhhhhh.:fingersx:

I don't care how good you think it is, it's not gonna eat MY Epi LP. It's possible that it is as good as my Epi, I don't know since I've never played one, but I've played lots of guitars and haven't found a better one than my Epi LP in any price range.
I have to admit, however, that those Agiles are very nice looking. I would probably buy one if I didn't have so many guitars already.

I got rid of my Epi Les Paul Custom a few years ago and I'm glad I did, the materials, workmanship, sloppy binding/ fretwork, and playability just could not compare to the Agile. I don't know how Agile does it really. Agile uses real mahogany compared to epihone and their use of alder, not to mention that epiphone uses Photo Flame tops where as Agile uses real Flame Maple Tops and in most cases ebony fingerboards with real MOP or Abalone compared to Epiphones Mother of Toilet Seat inlays. The difference is night and day. Try one and I guarantee that you'll convert.
