Viper 256 Military Green. Arrived today. This is a killer guitar and the stock pickups don't sound too bad, but I'm putting some Duncans in it of course. Already got the Nazgul just need neck pup next. Can't wait to hear the Nazgul coil split too. This guitar has one of the most comfortable necks I've ever played. Stays in tune good. Really impressed. I love it.

Congrats on the new guitbox. Lovr the color. I have two LTDs, great guitars, play great, sound great.

This makes my 4th LTD. I really like satin finishes too. Took the back cover off to find Alpha 500k mini pots with push pull on the tone. Eveything is shielded great. No hum. These Alpha pots have nice taper to them. Feels like a solid quality guitar.

Nazgul eh? That should be quite interesting. What are you thinking for the neck pup?

Sentient. We all know the Sentient is a perfect match, but I am leaning more towards a Blackened Black Winter. Be different and should match well.
I would do something out of left field and put an SNS neck in it.

Saturday Night Special (SNS).

I have a covered Black Winter neck, that gets my vote.

Had a Naz once, ehhh but some of that I couldnt gel with the guitar it was in.

Congrats on your new ride. Those pickups you selected should be great for that guitar if you wish to bring the heavies.

The pickups are in. They sound amazing! For those who are wondering Nazgûl and the Black Winter are perfect together. The coil split on both are really, really good! Here she is...

Installed the strap button to the horn. Much better balance. This should be the standard on Vipers.

The reason it's not is because there's not enough wood there to maintain a good "grip" and footprint for the button as compared to a Strat upper horn. The heel or behind the horn (with a shorter screw) is the best place for the long term. Don't be shocked when that one tears out. And it will at some point.

Nice!
LTD's 256 lineup is no joke!

In fact, I prefer my ec256 to my 401v.

The alpha mini pots were a surprise to me. They are really nice.

how is the neck profile and fretwork on yours?

I would think all the 256s will have Alpha pots. This Viper is a 2017 model. The fretwork is outstanding with no sharp frets. I do have little bit of buzzing on the 5th to 7th frets on the low E. I haven't touched the truss rod or adusted the bridge yet. I used to have a EC1000 Vintage Black and this guitar is just as good with the same neck profile. Very nice satin neck. I'm not sure of the profile but it feels perfect.
