I agree Lew, but you can say the same for the other artists I mentioned. Gilmour, Gibbons, EVH, they all have used a wide range of guitars, amps and effects, yet you always know it's them. However, each of us has an idea of what the artist's 'classic' tone is, and some of us have an idea how to get it. Believe it of not, with the right settings on the Road King and APH neck bucker I can get a good approximation of his tone. Not to mention, I'm not necessarily trying to copy his tone, just more interested in what he was using around the time of Abraxas. Pre or post boogie? LP or SG? Fuzz or no?
