What ESP guitars are you using right now?
I'm playing the F-300FM and EC-1000, as well as the Viper-301, H-301 and H-307 seven-string.
What do you like most about them?
I played B.C. Rich and Charvel all through the late '80s and '90s but I have to say that tonally ESP guitars are superior. The pickups [EMG-HZs and EMG-81s] are freakin' awesome and the neck-thru body style gives it better sustain than the bolt-on style that I was otherwise used to. Other than that, ESP just has much better designs than the others on the market. When I play my Viper, I feel like a Pimp.
What kind of amplification are you using?
The Line 6 Flextone II head with a Peavey Black Widow cab. [Both John and Ben Moody recently began playing Line 6 HD147 heads.]
CapoFirstFret said:no offense intended to you of course, but the guitar tones are my LEAST favorite part of evanescence...it's the epitamy of Line 6 at it's worst and most sterile. But that's just my opinion of course, if you dig it, hey man, more power to you!
aldu74 said:Interesting, because their album was recorded using MESAs & MARSHALLs, though he did use Line 6 live.

+1SepultuRick said:I would not say they are unique in anyway at all!
FenderStratRock3 said:I'd think a lot of bands might do that. With modelling technology getting better, some see 'why not make it easier on the roadies.' I agree with it totally, but wouldn't do the same myself.
As for Evanescene, not my thing at all. Amy's voice isn't half bad, but everything else? Not so much.
