Eventide releases a new pedal

Be honest. It’s just the H9 algorithm, right? Can it do anything your H9 can’t?

Yes, it is the H9 algorithm in a box. The H9 has all of the functionality of any of the Eventide stomps that are present in the unit including the ModFactor, PitchFactor, and Space pedals.

Basically as soon as you buy a second box you should have gotten an H9.

The only argument I have heard for buying the box over the H9 is one person said they needed the line level output for recording. But if you look the H9 has an output setting on every effect which is a lot more malleable than a simple line/instrument toggle.

People like the ease of use and adjustment on these compared to the H9. A while back people here were up in arms over the H9 nearing its death. These pedals come out and the H9 becomes popular again...lol. Go figure.

Well, they said the H9 is full now. Releasing stand alone versions of the algorithm and having the top Youtube demo channels feature it is a strategy.

When you think about all of the pedals they squeezed in that device it is no surprise it is maxed out. I would love to see a larger capacity H10 or a rack unit next.

That's how I think of my little Mooer UK Gold. It is a single Kemper Model burned on a chip in a little box.

But isnt the H9 limited to one effect at a time? So having one H9 isnt the same as having multiple dedicated pedals.

No, but if you are only going to run one thing at a time, it makes sense. Some of those really spacey reverbs really can only be run by themselves.
