Ever install a Fuzz Factory onboard A Guitar?

A Buddy or mine just asked me to install a Zvex FF in his new Fender Jaguar HH. (Talking him out of it is futile:eyecrazy:) He already has a Zvex FF on his board, But he got a 2nd one to built into the guitar so he can control the Oscillation etc. on the fly? So for the next few weeks I'll be plotting a way to do this without totally boogering the Guitar! :omg: I'll keep ya's posted.

Re: Ever install a Fuzz Factory onboard A Guitar?

I think the guy from Muse already did that, no?

I think that was mentioned to me? I'm not claiming this to be a original idea,But rather fishing around for Info. I have a few good idea's how to do it, But I want to think this thought before I do it. In my Ole' High School shop class there was a Big sign that said " MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE" I've since added... THINK 10x's Then " MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE" Thanks , I'll Google the Muse guitar & see if there is any info.:thanks:

Re: Ever install a Fuzz Factory onboard A Guitar?

I'd go for a generously sized rear route and a few knob holes, just like a regular control cavity on a Gibson.

Re: Ever install a Fuzz Factory onboard A Guitar?

It's a Jag...does he use all the extra controls??

If not then do away with the the 2 little control plates near the top of the guitar...

On the one on the bass side mount a 3 way toggle for pickup selection and an ON/OFF for the FF...then on the bottom one mount the controls for the FF and maybe open up a small cavity under the guard to mount the PCB..those boards are VERY small, that would work nicely...

That said, if he does use that other stuff I've wasted 45 seconds typing something and you just wasted 45 seconds reading it!

Good luck!

Re: Ever install a Fuzz Factory onboard A Guitar?

These are the guys that built Matt Bellamy's guitar http://www.mansonguitars.co.uk/ I think I read somewhere that you can buy onboard effects kits from Guitar Fetish, too.

Wasn't there some offshoot company in the late 80s / early 90s that tried this? Putting stompboxes into guitar tops?
