ever use an Evolution neck in the bridge?

Is it anything like an Evo2 in the bridge? The idea of the Evo2 sounds pretty cool in the bridge. Tight, punchy, lots of harmonics, round top end. The only issue is that it has way too much output to match up with single coils which makes me think of the Evo neck model in the bridge position. I just cant get any info on this which sort of makes sense since there is an Evo bridge model. I was just wondering if anyone has given this a shot.

Yup, sounds great. It's in the yellow Dean. One of my favorites. There's a reason they make F-Spaced neck pickups, so you can install them in the bridge. ;)

Is it tight, punchy, have good harmonics, and have a bright but not harsh top end? lol I have to ask. The Evo2 sounds badass but is way to high output to balance with single coils :(.

Yes, yes, and yes. Honestly, it does sound like an Evo 2 to me. I can't really judge it's output against single coils, you know my guitars. ;)

Re: ever use an Evolution neck in the bridge?

Haha yea I know but its a little lower output than a FRED is which people say is good for balancing with singles and the single I plan on using in the neck is really hot and almost like a P-90 so I should be solid.

But yea if it's like an Evo 2 then sweet because that is what I want then. I need something tight, punchy, tons of harmonics, and with a nice high end that is bright but not ear piercing. I'm all about power and definition right now but without having tons of output. My amp has enough gain I dont need to push it any more than a vintage PAF does honestly.

I've heard good things bout the Breed in the Bridge
but have no practical experience with them

I think I'll go Norton actually. I had a brief experience with it in my Les Paul. It wasn't muddy but it wasn't bad. It was such a brief experience that I can't really comment either way but in a mahogany body and neck through neck guitar with a maple top and ebony board it should do fine. People say its muddy but I dont use tons of gain and like I said the guitar will have a maple top and ebony board so that should be enough definition to keep the pickup where I want it to be. I had a Steve's Special in the same Les Paul at one point and it wasnt bad. The SS is a defined pickup but people say its not "tight" and I didn't have problems. Before that I had a CC in it which people say is total mud and while being a little muddy it wasn't enough to make me hate the pickup so I should be fine because people describe the Tone Zone being like the CC and the Norton seems more defined then the TZ.

I tried an EVO neck model in the bridge last night. I reeeeally like it, sounds like a tight, punchy PAF, but the harmonics were pretty weak...I was surprised by that.

If it had better harmonics, it would probably be my "Go to" pickup.
