Nice! i like that, betcha it'll cost an arm and a leg though.

The one pictured in your post reminds me of one of the ESP Eclipse models, in Vintage Black. I used to really dig that guitar.

It would look alright if the polepieces weren't gold, and the knobs weren't black, IMO.

I like it, but are my eyes still buzzed? Is that binding totally aged or what?

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

They should release a staple production model with an ebony fretboard. There's an option some might go for... without changing too much.

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

...I can't get excited over it when Gibson, Fender, and other companies release "new" axes that you could basically make by buying new knobs/hardware/pickup rings yourself. Or am I missing something? I mean... that just looks like every other Paul to me.

...Well, it is Gibson doing what Gibson does best. :) Which is not the BFG lately :smack: specially not after seeing this video...

Looking at Gibson's newer models... the only ones that appeal to me at all if I were in the market ever again for a Gibson type guitar would be the Goddess and Vixen. Though they do need more knobs :laugh2:, the others just look half assed... those new centuries and GTs (you'd think I'd like the GTs too, huh), and now the BFG

That could quite possibly be the worst advertisement video I've ever seen.

That thing is amazing, I wish there were pictures of the other one up too.

wow, thanks there skippy...my gosh i never thought of doing that, what on earth would i do without you? :chairfall LOL just kidding man. oh and it's only 2 screws that hold them on :D

on a serious note, yes i've done that but it's nice to have a guitar with no extra holes in it from the factory :) my current 2 LPs thankfully came with no guards on them and they'll stay that way!

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

like a custom without a pickguard and with trapezoid inlays... and open-coils. cool.

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

Looks great.....but is anyone else tired of Gibson, PRS and other "big" name companies charging thousands of dollars for MACHINE made guitars that probably cost $300 - $500 to make....I know I am.

Your kidding right?

Ahhahahah . . . that video is brutal! It has given me hope that I could star in a Gibson commercial though, since they don't seem to pick people with talent any more . .

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

BFG? Doom?

I'd dig the one in the pic if it wasn't the creme binding and the gold hardware.

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

i hate how bright the inlays are with the aged bindings..

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

BFG is the Big Freaking Gun in Quake II :)

They're supposed to be cheaper alternatives and I'd really like to see what the Antique will look like, but this custom is a big miss .. Sure, you can add a pickguard, but no binding on the back of the body ? Single binding on the headstock ? Freaking trapezoid inlays ???

Les Pauls and Marshalls are the stuff for me, but sorry .. to me, this looks like a miserably failed plywood replica, made in Asia about 30 years ago.
