everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

Whoo I can't imagine what Gibson was thinking when they put that BFG song/video together. That was like Wednesday 13's band in Junior High!!!

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

Really dig that first one, first new Gibby I've really liked in a long time, can't wait to try one out!!!

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

It's getting to the point where whatever Gibson puts out won't make a difference because no one from the masses will be able to afford it.

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

...Well, it is Gibson doing what Gibson does best. :) Which is not the BFG lately :smack: specially not after seeing this video...

WOW.

Ummmm....

I'm not quite gettin' that...

Normally when I hear that kinda music the singer sounds like Cookie Monster, Mc. Gruff the crime dog or a trans-sexual opera singer.

Anywhoo...when I see "BFG" and Les Paul together I'm usually thinkin' about this...

How much are those new Gibson BFG things anyway?! Anybody know yet?

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

Well, I think Gibson just confirmed who they're tyring to tagert with the BFG. :laugh2:

That was horrible but I still like the concept of the guitar. Add a rear pickup ring, truss rod cover and some normal knobs and I'd dig the guitar.

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

That's classy looking unlike that monstrosity the BFG.

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

...I can't get excited over it when Gibson, Fender, and other companies release "new" axes that you could basically make by buying new knobs/hardware/pickup rings yourself. Or am I missing something? I mean... that just looks like every other Paul to me.

Looking at Gibson's newer models... the only ones that appeal to me at all if I were in the market ever again for a Gibson type guitar would be the Goddess and Vixen. Though they do need more knobs :laugh2:, the others just look half assed... those new centuries and GTs (you'd think I'd like the GTs too, huh), and now the BFG

Slade

What... The... ****...

I love the new BFG and think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but is it really that much different than my tron/p-90 DC? No... Hell... I've got 10x the fret access.

And why are they playing gay metal when the guitar has a P-90... Play some southern rock for ****s sake and market it as the bluecolar custom gibson.

You mean fender right?

I can get an american made les paul NEW for $650.

I can't get any american made fenders for less than $900.

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

Looks great.....but is anyone else tired of Gibson, PRS and other "big" name companies charging thousands of dollars for MACHINE made guitars that probably cost $300 - $500 to make....I know I am.
Are you Ed Roman? Your quote sounds exactly like Eds comment, which happens to be on the Lucky Charms site...
Ed says that CNCs are appropriate for guitars in the $3-500 range. Obviously luthiers who employ CNCs shouldn't charge more than that for their wares...unless it's named Quicksilver, I guess.
hehe:dance:

That demogrphic wouldn't be buying.

Scene kids will buy sh*t on a shingle if you market it right.

If you've played a fair amount of Gibsons you would know they don't do everything CNC. Binding is cut by hand. Necks are hand shaped and can vary quite a bit. Besides, those machines (and the operators who program them) are not cheap.

Les Pauls are overpriced, but an SG for $1100 is perfectly reasonable.

That's a rather piss-poor comparison. You're pitting the most cheap-sh1t Gibson against a Standard-series Fender. Compare it to the Highway 1 Fenders, and while the Fender is still a more "finished" product, it's closer price and marketing wise. It's still not apples & apples, as the HWY1 Strat looks, feels, and sounds considerably more like it's higher-priced counterpart than the $650 Les Paul.

The gibson is still made in america and still sounds like a gibson.

The fender is mexican, just dressed up.

Re: everybody's talking about the new LP BFG.....

That looks just like the Ltd Ec-1000 in vintage black I just sold...

Quite nice.

Classic Antique pics are out!

DROOL!

I want that SOOOOOOO BAD! when is it gonna be availibe? Birthdays in 2 weeks!

BTW the only thing I dont like on the BFG are the wood knobs. If it had regular knobs it'd be cool. And I agree with the play southern rock on it deal.

You can buy a Fender made in Mexico by Mexicans or you can buy a Fender made in California by Mexicans. It's your choice.
