Hi guys, I finally acquired the everything axe set (jb junior, duckbucker and lil 59). They will be used in an ash stratocaster built by me. I would like some recommendation for the pots, 250K or 500K ?. I would appreciate the reasons for the choice.

I'll be attentive, thanks for the help

Most people will tell you that 500K for humbuckers and 250K for single coils.
Personally I like 250K pots regardless, because the high end is slightly subdued.
I have 250’s in my LP, HSS Strat, LP Special and I’m putting them in my Kramer build as well.
Ultimately it’s up to you.
I go for a slightly darker tone.
And the differences in the pots, to my ears aren’t terribly drastic.
YMMV

I'm pretty sure the Everything Axe set is designed to work with 250K pots. That's what I had in my G&L Legacy when I had them fitted a few years ago.

I agree with the 250K pots. I had an Everything Axe Set in an Am Standard strat and even with 250k pots there is plenty of high end, specially from the JB in the bridge. To get the power in the little humbucker, they use ceramic magnets, which can sometimes have brittle highs. If your guitar is especially dark in tone, you may need 500K pots. Normally however, the 250K pots will be the right choice.

Good luck and let us know how they sound once you're all wired up.

Actually I think I will go for pots of 250 k, since I think the JB is very bright and with 500k it would help to increase its brightness. I have the JB humbucker with 250k pots in my ESP horizon and it sounds powerful and dark as I like it.

I think that with 250 k pots they will sound incredible. I will try and tell you the results.

I agree with you, 250k pots should sound pretty good with this set. As the JB is brilliant the 250k pot helps control that. I will be commenting on the results when they are installed correctly.

I have a set in a partscaster Strat with an Ash body. Sounds good with 250K pots. You could go with 500K if you want a little more treble bite. The JB jr bridge pickup has plenty of treble in my guitar with the 250K pots.
