EVH '78 in Alder strat/rosewood board?

Hey guys.
I have an EVH from the customshop, and I was going to build a swamp ash/maple neck strat to put it in. But now I'm thinking of putting it in a strat I already have which is Alder/maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. How do you guys think this will work out? The two singles will still be APS-1's or 2's.


Anyone using an EVH in a guitar without an ash body or maple neck/board?

Any idea on how it might sound? Will I still get the EVH vibe with the rosewood board over the maple? Eventually I'm going to drop one in a strat with a all maple neck, but for now it's going in the maple/rosewood and Alder body strat.

Will that EVH vibe still be attainable with the maple/rosewood neck, and alder body combo? Does'nt have to be dead on EVH, but if it's in the ballpark I think I'll be happy for now, until I put together an ash/all maple neck strat.

I had an EVH in an alder guitar with a mple neck and rosewood board. I took it out -- preferred the 59.

Yes, it'll be in the ballpark. A tad warmer due to the rosewood but good enough. Don't worry so much about it. Just slap it in there and play.

I can deal with a little warmer, as my amp can be pretty bright. Thanks for the tips guys, but if you have anything else to add, please go ahead and do so.
