New Custom 7 String Day

I have never played 7’s… but I like to play tuned down to C or B a lot. And I still like to do impromptu jams with ‘normies’ in Standard… so a 7 is like a 2 in 1 for me lol.

Not really that different to play… just an extra range. Not as intimidating as I feared.

But here is my Worth ‘King Grimace’.

Roasted Mapled Neck, Ebony Board, Swamp Ash Body. Glow in the Dark Crown at the 12th fret.

My tribute to a Gibson Voodoo but Purple. And 7 strings lol.

I'm not usually into "pointy" guitars, but that one is sweet. Love the color combo with the pups.

It's almost traditional Explorer roundness on the corners... but with some E2 inspiration with the contours that make it look a little more 'pointy' than it is'. The body itself is a little upsized for the 25.5" scale and wider 7 string neck to balance the look and feel, hence the countours for comfort. Of course the headstock is a bit aggressive.

Was basically the result of watching a friend of mine play a 7 string. His reasoning is he has songs in both standard and B. Would switch between a Baritone and a normal guitar, so he got his to streamline.

As I mostly do not play in standard unless at open mics or learning new patterns... having a 7 kinda started making sense.

Kinda wish I did it years ago as it feels like a more complete guitar to me lol. Never thought a Les Paul would feel like a Ukelele. But after this.... mine do.

Beautiful guitar. IMO it was easy to adjust to the 7-string. My biggest challenge is string skipping on songs I have previously committed to memory on the 6-string. But the transition was so seamless, I have started looking at an 8-strig.
