EVH "Beat It" Solo

I've just started doin this SoundClick thing and i'm testin in out with my attempt at the Beat It solo by Eddie VH. I'm not really trying to recreate the tone too much its more of a test & to see if you guys like my playing.

Also i always tune to Eb so i had to use a capo at the first fret.

Yeah, it needs to be a tiny bit higher.

The playing was spot on though, nice job!

LOL..great Job....good tone...you use the Ibby?


That song did a helluva lot for bringing VH to the masses back then.....I always get a kick out of listening to it

I did use the Ibby, i don't think you can really pull it off with a Les Paul or a Hardtail strat methinks. The ibanez just has that more focused upper range that i think suits that solo better.

I will admit that was about the 3rd take of it.

Dude I love it. I heard that EVH was paid 1 million dollars to play that solo. Don't know if thats true or just hearsay!! Loved it though.
