Don't strees yourself over this and start with a Custom Custom. If that is not getting the sound for you, then move on to a more expensive pickup.

unfortunatly, being a college student, I dont have enought money to go out trying three different pickups. I have tried the CC and didnt like the upper mids and just a lack a "bite." Im still seriously considering the '78 though. but then again the new EVH one looks really good. I might just wait till the EVH's come out and wait till ppl right reviews on it.

The 78 is going to have a LOT of bite. Seeing how close the specs are between the CC and the Frankenpup I'd steer clear. I know from my personal experience that degaussing makes a huge differece...but I don't think that's going to restore the PAF bite or 78 sting. Christian described a CC as a sound with a tubescreamer ALWAYS on. I figure that's a fairly accurate description...that said deguassing is going to take away that effect to some degree, but the pup is still going to be heavier in the mids than a PAF.

your the one that thinks two pickups are the same based on its resistance,you have alot to learn....maybe call MJ and she can explain it to you..

No **** Sherlock. Unfortunately those are the only specs that have been provided and they are pretty important ones. When they provide more I will revise my opinion if needed. Until then either produce something of substance to prove otherwise or just stop. Can't produce facts so you attack the poster. Classic troll move.
