EVH Phase 90 in front of amp or in Loop?

Was looking at one of these. I run a
wah pedal and tuner into the front of my Mesa Boogie, I use the distortion from the amp as my main tone. Would I run this in the front end with my wah?
Or put it in the effects Loop?

I would put it in the loop. I like wahs, whammys, dirt boxes, and volume pedals in front, and pretty much everything else in the loop. However, it is neat to put a delay in front, set for multiple repeats, as they'll clean up as they fade.

I prefer the Phase 90 out front, plus chances are it won't handle the signal level present in your loop anyway.

Really as it's a modulation pedal it should go in front of the amp as should Chorus and Trem, but at the end of the chain.. or at least after WAH, Drive and Eq. Delays are better in the loop.

I prefer Phase Shifters in front of the amp.

I run any phaser in the front (pre-distortion). Chorus, flanger, delay, reverb (if I'm using them at all) ... post-distortion or in the loop. Phasers just sound better out front to me.

I like mine better in front too.. Just try and see what your preferences are, really...

If you tweak the knobs right, you can even get a "modulating overdrive" effect.

Isn't a phaser similar to a wah in how it achieves its effect?

Then it stands to reason that you'd want to put your phaser wherever you put your wah.

I also like the Phaser in front of the amp for traditional sounds. For synthy type sweeps I put it in the loop. If you don't know if you like a Phase 90 in the loop of out front, I urge you to do the following:
Buy both a Phase 90 and EHX Nano Stone, try them with your rig both in front and in the loop, then return the one you like less. It seems like there are only about 4 different types of phase shifters, the MXR style, EHX style, Univibe style and Mutron style. It also seems like most people have a pretty strong opinion on phasers types, P90 vs. Stone.

I use mine in front. It just seems like too much in the loop, especially without a level control on that pedal.
