I think he sounded great. I don't think he was drunk- seems a bit difficult to play like that if you're under the influence. Wish there was more to the clip.

It could be possible that EVH is just playing into the hype and persona that he's drunk or loony.

I think this new brand Fender is helping him start up will be a success. He designed the EB/MM Axis which is a killer guitar. The Peavey Wolfgang was an evolution of the Axis, just with an arch top and hotter pickups. That Fender amp sounds very close to the tone he got on tour with the Soldanos

I was thinking the same thing. More of a Soldano tone. I am looking forward to playing on this amp. I want to hear how it sounds up close. It has plenty of gain it sounds like. I wonder what are the tubes in it. It sounded more 6L6 with all that gain and softer clip-I wonder does anyone else know? Sounded like the compresion is there. This will be a fun amp to play. Ed just wings out something and just fooling around he sounds great, very abstract individual, probably artistic and therefore more inavative in his aproach to things rather than dogmatic by the book. One can only wonder how good he is when he focuses on a paticuler song or when he plays with his brother Alex in the structure of a band. I think thats why he is all over the place when he talks cuz he has a hard time focusing on one paticuler thought as many ideas seem to run thru his mind at once. I think the guitar for him is a creative outlet-the band helps him to focus his creative nature and gives his ideas structure. I wish him well on this new project.

What, fender having a reputation that might help them sell some products is a bad thing? Seriously, how many people into metal would think "fender" when wanting to buy an amp...?

Well that's all going to change soon enough, yet fender will still have all their other products around. It's expanding the company into someone who will be a way bigger player than they already are.

Those new EVH amps will sell like bottled water in hell.
