Re: EVH star NAMM preview

The body shape is awesome. I dislike the graphics and the headstock... Has potential.

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

He must've found the key to the room above his garage or something.

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

It would be cool if they would add the rasta paint, 5150 pattern, or the Hot for Teacher pattern to the current stripped series

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

Star body is awesome, Graphics... just meh.... headstock **** that thing!!!! That might be the ugliest headstock I have ever burned my eyesockets with!

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

If they were trying to be authentic, they missed one detail. Ed had 6-inline tuners on that 3-per-side headstock, so the bottom 3 tuners should end up offset different from the top.

Re: EVH star NAMM preview

and I wish Ed would stop being cheap and use something other than basswood on his entire line

Basswood is a proven tonewood. EBMM uses it, Suhr, along with a lot of other makers. It gets a bad rap because cheap Asian guitars get made with cheap basswood-like wood. GOOD basswood is amazing. I had a MIJ Tele that was basswood, dual humbuckers, that had a big fat tone to it. He's been using basswood in his personal guitars for the better part of 30 years.

I gotta say, I didn't expect to see this one added to the lineup. I wonder of the jacked up Destroyer will come along.

Oh I no problem with basswood. Its just that every single guitar in the line is basswood. Im sure its for cost reasons. What if the original star guitar is alder? why wouldn't they use alder? Like I said....prolly costs
