Recently acquired EVH Wolfgang WG Standard with these pickups.
A2's. Wax potted. Brass backplate. Bridge : 13.2K Neck : 15.5K
Better than most stock pups in my experience.
After i properly adjusted the height & pole pieces these are outstanding.
No need to change.

Those ARE the Wolfgang pickups that come in the USA models as well. Nothing different, except for the neck pickup in the Wolfgang® USA Edward Van Halen Signature, which has an Alnico 3 magnet according to the evhgear.com site specs.

Those are great guitars. Been jonesing for one since they hit the market and I played a few. Not many guitars on the rack that I could say that I could take it from the store and to a gig without changing a thing, but those are definitely in that category.

Cool, yeah they are really great pickups. It's sad to me that some people who buy these Indonesian built Standards waste their money on the EVH USA Wolfgang pickups (sold at $150 a pop no less) because they are the exact spec. Same wiring, same number of wraps, same wrap pattern/distribution on each coil, same magnets, same material for baseplate... Exactly the same in spec, it's just the machine that does the winding is sitting in a factory in Indonesia vs the US... I had a buddy who swapped just the bridge pickup in his EVH Special with the USA Wolfgang bridge and we recorded before and after clips... Indistinguishable... I think the only reason they sound a bit different in the USA Wolfgang guitar is because of that real maple cap adding a little something to the tone, I don't think it's because the pickups are USA made.

Agreed.

I have an early Mexican EVH Striped that squealed like a pig within a few months- I had to take it out and wax pot it myself, something I didn’t have to do on the aftermarket EVH pickups I’ve bought
