EVH Wolfgang pickups - retail vs. those that are in the new Wolfgang Standard?

Does anyone know what the differences are between the EVH Wolfgang pickups in the previous Special models and current USA Wolfgang guitars vs. those in the EVH Wolfgang Standard?
They look exactly the same except for the ROHS and neck/bridge stickers on the bottom, the former of which would indicate they’re made outside the US? Are the retail EVH Wolfgang pickups made in USA? For some reason I thought those weren’t made in the US either.

Same spec 'cept it seems that the previous Special and current Standards have pickups made in Asia.

The retail ones are all made in the US by Fender for the Wolfgang pickups and Duncan for the Frankenstein pickup.

When you say the previous Special, do you mean the MIC and MIJ Specials?

I have an older MIJ Special and the pickups sound fantastic in it and sound exactly like the retail ones that I got earlier this year for another Wolfgang partscaster that I put together from parts from Stratosphere on Ebay..

The MICs supposedly had the same RoHS stickers but at least the early MIJs didn't, but I did hear rumors that later examples did.

Honestly, I doubt there's a material difference between the pickups as it seems to me that Fender went the extra mile with making sure that the contracted stuff in China is made exactly to spec. I played a bunch of MIC Specials and they were all awesome.

Well that's good to know!

I'm tweaking the look of my latest Wolfgang partscaster, which is an ebony fretboard MIJ stealth neck and gloss black MIC Wolfgang Special body with chrome hardware. More of a Blackout Wolfgang than a Wolfgang Stealth :). Complete with bridge pickup only, empty neck position pickup rout and volume knob only). The pickup in the bridge is currently a zebra MIA EVH Wolfgang neck humbucker that I'm looking to swap out for an all black Wolfgang neck humbucker to complete the look, and I've got a line on one for a great price.

thanks for the info!
J.
