EVH's Tone on Jump?

I've been trying to get it through amp modeling, but I'm thinking I'm going to have to break the bank and get a new amp, because I just can't get that tone.

The TRUE secret to that tone is understanding the song was actually recorded during the video shoot! It's the mic cover that you need to get the perfect tone. Much debate exists as to whether it was the original Sony cover on Val's camcorder or a a Realistic replacement from Radio Shack. If Radio Shack, however, you may not be able to get the original one used during the shoot as Realistic changes suppliers all the time, and no one is sure which of the two suppliers that they had in 84 was available on the shelf near the studio where the video was shot.
