EXH MEL9 -- anyone got one yet?

I know when this pedal was announced there was a lot of excitement and a few people here said they had preordered it. I am going to try to find a shop to demo it this week (I hope Ludlow Guitars has it).

Would love any feedback from those that already have it.

Man, my birthday is coming up, and I'm having one heck of a time narrowing down the massive list of awesome pedals out right now.

Surely, the cost of collecting all four of the EHX -9 series pedals would fund a BOSS SY-300?

Yes I have one. I think it's marvelous. Has such a dark slightly creepy twinge to all of it, and I especially like how it simulates a slight tape warble when you release notes, making it really sound like some kind of tape based sample player. Has some glitchiness to it that just makes it sound fantastic and interesting. I bought it to go in the effects loop of my EHX Superego, but it hasn't made it there yet to even see how great that can be.

I'm not to sure the SY-300 and the 9 series have that much overlap? Now a HOG2, I think if you are creative enough with it should be able to come close.

Not terribly long, I hope. I have a vocal session tomorrow and then mixing that song, so I should get round to doing some Mel9 clips over the next week or so.

This pedal will need more tweaking than I can squeezse into a 45 minute audtion. All in all on a scale from 1 to 10 I'll give it a solid meh. Bill Rupert I am not, and that probably makes all the difference in the world. I'll try again Saturday night when I have more time.

I'm very interested in one of these for my pedal steel. This, and one of the organ ones, would give me some great rock tones, I think. I'm waiting to see some demos of the Mel9 on pedal steel, the C9 and B9 ones are amazing.

That's the main reason I don't have the B9, C9, Key9 or Mel9 yet. I'm worried I won't be able to come close to the tones of the demo videos.
