Exotic Tigerwood for fretboards

If you have an interest and have a project or future project, this stuff is gorgeous. If you are interested PM me for prices on individual planks

Keep in mind that I hand selected these from approximately 1000 sq feet. Tigerwood can be beautiful but a lot of planks ranged from very ugly discolored blotching with spotty stiping on a few to almost clear which is basically American Cherry in appearance

This is the best of it all and you can see the flame clearly in my crappy images. The cut is quartersawn rift

The smallest piece you see is offered for pickup rings, it's insane and also flamed! 3D looking

If these are super fine sanded in final stages (150, 220, 300, 400, then steel wooled, the grain pop will hurt your eyes

A little info regarding hardness of Tigerwood (also known as Brazilian Koa)

2160 on the Janka scale, maple is only rated 1450 so tigerwood is over 175% harder. This makes for incredible wear resistance and a beauty that cannot be beat. I would imagine that the bite and attack is much better then hardrock maple. Each plank is obviously unique. I personally moisture tested every piece and they are 8% or less which is better then most stuff you can buy which averages around 10-12% (air-dried or kiln dried)

Keep in mind a rosewood board will run you an average of $120 for good quality blank, this blows any rosewood or ebony board away in sheer visual impact and durability and you get at least 2 out of each plank. These planks have a clear finish coat of aluminum oxide, you will see the same rich coloring once you oil the finished fretboards
