Expert help needed: Identfying leads from humbucker.

Hello!
Help is much needed, and I hope some experts on here can provide that.

I took it upon myself to help a friend to mod his guitar so that he could get single coil tones from his two humbucker fitted Yamaha N89 from the mid-2000's.
When I looked into it, the unmarked humbuckers only had two leads each, so I plan to convert them to 4-lead pickups.

The problem is that I find the wires within the pickup a little strange as far as south start/finish goes. The pickups I've seen before has been from top to bottom: north start, north finish, south finish, south start.
This one seems to have north start, north finish, south start, south finish.
The pickup has from top to bottom: White, black, white, black leads. The top goes to ground, the black is connected with the lowest black lead, and the third wire from the top (white) is hot.
I've taken a picture of the pickup in question; the bridge pickup, that has screws in the coil closest to the bridge. (The neck pickup is opposite, with the screw coil closest to the neck).

Could you please take a look at it and help me determine the start/finish on both coils?
Thanks a lot!

Re: Expert help needed: Identfying leads from humbucker.

The black leads are the start of the coil in both cases.

Thank you for that, Peter.

Forgive my shortcomings when it comes to this.
Isn't the usual wiring for humbuckers this: North start = Hot; North finish and south start = linked and south start = ground?

My pickup then seems to be north finish = ground; north start and south start = linked and south finish = hot. Which I find strange.
It's a fairly low output humbucker at ca. 9K.

To get what I want (regular humbucker with option to split coils), should I resolder the leads so that they fit the "recipe"?
Added a couple of pics to explain.

Thanks.
