I'm sure you know to warm the cans in the sun or med-hot water for at least 20 min. Keep the tips clean w/ acetone. You can change tips as well. Maybe a Prevail with water clear cut 50/50 might be a better spray. Test first finish last.

actually i'm not warming them cuz this stuff is formulated to somehow spray best at room temperature. It's spraying just fine now with the horizontal spray pattern. Getting good build and no problems getting all the corners.

I'm not familiar with that product, but warmer= higher pressure= better spray (rattle can). I just got an HVLP and I'm not spraying nothing till I'm sure about it.

Anyway, I'm not spraying anything today cuz it's been raining all night and all day. Don't wanna take a chance with humidity. Temperature went up today as well, but it's gonna go lower tomorrow, so I should get on the last coat of what lacquer I have remaining tomorrow.

lol no, that'd be a colossal waste of money seeing as I'm not really an accomplished bassist by any means...not even a competent bassist. This is my first bass ever!

I really can't agree w/ nitro over acrylic. Nitro over nitro. Different dry/ skin to skin ratios...yadayada. Be careful bro.

you do know that all the old fenders were done with acrylic colour coats and nitro topcoats right?

What ever works. Look at Geoff's strat. Personally I think it's beautiful but remember he's a hard musican who beat the snot out of that ax for a long time LOL

Not much to look at, I think this is the last coat of clear on the body.

The light unfortunately didn't catch on the body showing off the shine, but trust me, it's there. I've probably got enough lacquer for one more coat on the headstock , which is good cuz I think the decal could use it.

After today, I'm gonna take em out of the spray room so I can reclaim my bathroom, and the body and neck will hang up to gas off/cure for a week. That said, after about day 2 (enough time to at least dry to the touch), I think I will start applying Danish Oil to the neck.
