I am so incredibly p_ssed off right now... I own two of the full size Ernie Ball Volume pedalsand one of the teflon straps broke. I saw on the EB website that they sell a replacement. First of all the charged me $4 for the part and $8 for the shipping!! WTF?!?!? They sent these instructions that are these cheap photo copies and you can't even see a **** thing! Once you do figure out what you are suppose to be doing it is f_cking imposible to actually wind this thing up! They dont give you any tools at all to strech this thing and there is so little amount of room to do anything! Why would they sell a replacement piece for something that no one would have the ability to fix???? Come on Ernie Ball, I paid over a hundred bucks for a pedal that has a strap and a potometer! you think they could at lease put a decent strap on the thing, or at least garantee it for life!!

Problem is, Ernie Ball is pretty much the standard. Some would say a Boss though, and some would also say a Goodrich, but mostly, people would recommend the EB.

I like a volume with a minimum knob. Morley? It's what I've got. Optical is pretty reliable.

I don't know if you know anything about drums at all, but Tama has an iron cobra kick drum pedal that has a kevar strap that is 3/4 of an inch wide. It is way more steardy than this little string, plus that is made out of the same stuff but has a lot more pulleys to it and they still cost the same... Grr I am going to try one more time tonight to fix it, but this time I am gonna be much more drunk!
