The pickup is basically brand new. It was in my LP for all of about 2 hours before i went back with the Alnico II Pro bridge. The lead is still the same length it was out of the box (12.5"). Pickup will come with mounting hardware & wiring instruction in original packaging. I payed a little over $85.00 for it. No trades please, make me an offer!

If you want offers, then put it on ebay.

If you want to sell it, then ask a price.

Whats the going rate for one of these?

Well you can't get more common than a double black '59. You can new ones all day for $70 shipped, so if yours is like new, then about $60 is the best you can hope for.

Well $60.00 it is then and I will even ship it to the lower 48 free! if anyone is interested just let me know.

Robert, Just noticed your reply! Sounds tempting but i don't really need another pickup.

Have you heard the vhpaf with A2 in it? If you're willing to swap magnets, it's roughly equivalent to a custom shop '78. Plus, I take it that the reason you got the '59 is because you wanted a little bit more out of the bridge of your guitar. If you already like the AII pro, I'd trade for a VHPAF, put the AII from the A2P in there, and call it a day. It'll be a bit hotter than the A2pro, and with the airbucking technology, it'll sound a bit aged and 'chewy' as some other people have described. Think of that schwack you get in the in-between positions of the strat - you get some of that character, but It's still a humbucker.

I take it you like A2 in the bridge, you're one magnet swap away from not having to change your bridge pickup ever again (if you're like me, that is)

Ive got the LP i bought the '59 for on the bench for a fret dress and new nut at the moment but i'll have to give that a try. I absolutely love the alnico II bridge but just wish it had a little more edge to it. I have tried an alnico II with an alnico V so it'll be interesting to try it the other way around.

That's Cool man. No prob. We're all on the mad search. :naughty:

Honestly, I haven't given the vpaf the benefit of the doubt. I've got guys like jimijames saying to hold up and try it w/ an A2. I read up on the Custom Shop 78, and if the vpaf sounds like the 78 w/ A2.......I just may be holding on to it..... I would like to try a 59 though. I've never tried one in my guitars.
