Ok, so the color is going to be seafoam green.

I am going to start stripping the body and neck this week. A friend told me I could use oven clear as a stripper. Any thoughts? Also, any suggestions for wood filler and primer? I got some advice already, just looking for additional ideas. Thanks!

Just a quick update... I'll try to post some pics tonight. I have the electronics stripped off and I will try to apply some stripper. I have some very light-duty stuff that I'm going to try first. Given the light finish on this guitar I think it might be sufficient. More to come.

Here's a thought. If you still want to do a burst finish a la SG Supreme, could you not skim a small amount of mahogany away from the top and back of the guitar then apply veneers in, say, flamed maple? This would also serve to cover all of the existing routs and any filling that you deem necessary.

This is such an excellent idea! Just a veneer on the front with a burst finish would look soooo awesome.

Hmmm.... I could veneer the front AND back (the back's colors shows the obvious mis-matched pieces) and that would solve the routing issue and the mismatch issue... I could do a blue/green burst or cherry burst or even tobacco burst... and use the smaller pickguard.... hmmmm.....

I like the sea foam colour. Your guitar will look killer when it's done. There's a link below you should check for more ideas. It's an SG editor that does a great job.
