SG, but not an SG

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
I have never been an SG guy, but I have kinda wanted one. Finally saw one of these local (enough) at a great price! Traded my Fender Pro Jr. for it.

I have replaced the volume knob, turned the switch a bit, and polished the frets a little. Really solid guitar. Digging the neck. Flatish D? Shallow C? I'm digging it. Next up - Whole Lotta Humbuckers at some point.

I love the Vintage/Modern vibe. Been playing AC/DC and Sabbath obviously...

LTD Vipers always had more of a Les Paul dressed up as an SG vibe for me tonally, but I love that, personally. My first introduction to LTD's was a friend's Viper-301 way back in the day. Fell in love. The ESP Thin U neck profile is one of my faves.

Congrats!

What exactly is it you don't like about SGs? My hangup has always been that the neck and bridge just feel like someone took a Les Paul and mounted everything an inch off. So I was thoroughly disappointed when I got to try out an ESP Viper and it felt exactly the same.
