Those look legit, but it appears someone took the covers off then put them back on.

Thanks, how can you tell they took the covers off and if so, does it matter? The guitar came with an extra pickup ring so likely one ring was replaced for some reason, possibly to raise or lower one of the pickups. Won't be able to plug in until tomorrow.

I see you have to use a solder iron to remove the cover so I am guessing they were trying the pickups without the covers and then put them back on before selling the guitar. Probably screwed up the sticker while doing the removal. Does that make sense?

Yes, that appears to be exactly what happened and those look legit.

If you become concerned about the authenticity of any SD pickups in the future, there is a sticky at the top of this forum dedicated to exactly that

Third: Since the serial numbers are torn away by the former owner (what a jerk!), i can only tell you they were made after 2002.
Fourth: You can‘t be sure that they carry the original mags. It was the Flavour of the Day some years ago to swap in some stronger mags. The original mags are also signed by Seymour.

I thought about someone switching out the magnets but since the resistance was 7.5 on the neck and 8.5 on the bridge I thought that was unlikely. I've pretty much used JB's my whole life so I don't have a lot of experience with covered pickups or Alnico 2 pickups. Really curious to see how these sound tonight.

7.5 and 8.5 kOhms are spot on for Ants. But the DCR has nothing to do with the mags.
